Is there anything more annoying, when complaining about the lack of fic in a particular fandom, with the response: "Write it yourself!"

Writing and reading are very different pleasures; and if I wanted to write fic I'd be bloody well writing it, instead of complaining about not being able to read it.

I was in the mood for some fic this morning, and I reminded myself that I was on the late shift on the enquiry desk this evening - plenty of time for some fic reading!

Does anyone have any good Thorin/Bilbo recs? I refuse to call it Bagginshield: I hate portmanteau/mash-up ship names, since they all end up sounding so silly and infantile.

So I just finished reading gyzym's 'An Avalanche of Detour Signs' and oh my God, I now ship Lestrade/Molly like you would not believe. Like burning.

And it also appears to have reignited my raging crush on Rupert Graves. Ugh. I totally fancied him in Maurice but he is way hotter older. Silver hair, mmmm.

I may have posted about this before, but I hate WIPs. I won't read them until they're complete. I've been burned too often falling head first into epic, wonderfully-written, engaging stories only before them never to be completed. There's a couple of Snape/Hermione fics (yeah, don't judge) and a Buffy/Giles fic that I would kill to see completed. ( Read more... )
